Royal Mail Send A Parcel

Being an author, I have taken the opportunity to use their online Send A Parcel service. You buy the postage, then a postman will collect the parcels from home with your address labels. It’s great. However! There is a glitch in the system that sometimes arises. Once they have collected your parcels, they scan the codes with their PDA gadget. Sometimes this sends a faulty email to you saying collection has failed. Rest easy though, as this is a glitch, you can still use your tracking codes. Until the parcel is scanned again at the next depot the resulting message may say We’re Expecting It. This should change as the parcel passes through each depot in a normal manner.

The Rise Of Malinkar

So with all of the hardback copies now posted to their claimants, pictures and reviews of happy backers are now appearing in the forums and feedback is looking positive. The softcover versions are on order and should be signed and sent next week, followed by everybody’s PDFs. I have another two books set on Pneuma planned.

Pneuma expands

However these ideas will be no time soon as I have two other projects to work on. One is academic, the other is my involvement as an executive producer on the film The Stranger I Love. This basically means help by pushing the promotion of it as far as I can. You can check out this extraordinary crowdfunder here https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk /tsil-finishingfund

So what does 2024 hold in store? Well, I have at least two more books being published. LIG4, which is Malinkar: Lord Of Enmity is in the final stages of production and set for a late January release. It will have us back on the Isle of Pneuma in a prequel to LIG3. My second offering to US based Savage Realms Gamebooks has been submitted and will probably be released later in the year, with Mike Tenebrae coined nicely as illustrator linking both series together with myself. This will be a sequel to The Tavern On Gallows Hill featuring encounters old and new. I have two further ideas for Pneuma adventures, one of which will be linked to this sequel. The Return To The Tavern On Gallows Hill will feature several WTF moments to delight the modern and classic gamebook fan.

The Flag Of Pneuma

Alongside this, I have an ambition to fill which I have put off for many years. It seems mandatory now that I achieve this as I hurtle towards the big five O… and I don’t mean Hawaii. I shall also continue to campaign against parental alienation as more and more mother’s and father’s are.

Modern Gamebooks.

So with everything else that’s gone on, it hasn’t marred me from pursuing my hobby of writing. Malinkar : Lord Of Enmity has been sent to the publishers for design. So far so good. Only 46 copies of the hardback version will exist. 10 more than The Druids Of Pneuma if I remember correctly. They were prepaid so sorry if you missed the boat. This is an adult gamebook, certainly not for children, and as such all LIG books will be written towards a mature audience forthwith. My work for Savage Realms Gamebooks or any other side projects will be gentler in nature. I intend to increase my Pneuma based adventures by two more books but have a huge step to take sometime in the new year. Malinkar the paperback version should be available late January to early February on Amazon.

Parental Alienation… A Film

Hi fellow pressers. This is a heads up for all those enduring or otherwise concerned with the debilitating social issue that is Parental Alienation. Whilst my own journey is repairing, my good friend Theresa Godly is still enduring those void-filled times into a fifth year. An experienced actress, Teri has also produced a short film to help raise parental alienation awareness and is currently holding a finishing fund on Crowdfunder to help with post production costs. I’m calling out to any backers, philanthropists or even people with a spare couple of quid who may help Teri reach her goal. Having written The Druids Of Pneuma, I began to get inspirations for furthering the story with sequels and prequels. Malinkar was a great villain in my eyes, but very little was known about him in the book. Such a strong character deserved a backstory of his own. After living through several months of narcissistic abuse and then discard, I needed something to occupy my mind to help cease the nightmarish mindset that came with it. I utilised this trauma to come up with the story’s plot. Imagine being someone with vengeful tendencies and losing everything you loved via someone you respected, then finding out you was capable of doing something about it.

This gamebook is not for kids. The theme is very adult and it is written quite graphically in some areas. The reason being, I think it was best to tell of Malinkar’s tale in raw detail so we understand his torment, corruption and hatred for certain people better. It starts with Malinkar coming of age and wrestling with the emotions that come with it. He always knew he was a little different, but didn’t realise how so. Others couldn’t see things he could as he grew up, and he would be mocked and socially outcast by school peers. Then, one night, he hears a voice calling his name…

Malinkar: Lord Of Enmity is scheduled for release in the New Year as the fourth book in my Literally Immersive Gamebooks series.

Filleriffic

Art is continuing to pour in for Literally Immersive Gamebooks fourth title, Malinkar : Lord Of Enmity, and I can now reveal Tony Hough has produced four filler illustrations to go within the book. Mike Tenebrae has almost finished the main internal illustrations, and I understand Malcolm Barter isn’t too far off completing two submissions as well.

In other news, the kickstarter to my second Savage Realms Gamebooks title is still running, and we could really use some support to help reach our stretch goals. Take a look here http://kck.st/3SjRnSD

Well, Literally Immersive Gamebooks 4 is growing ever closer to completion with several more illustrations completed by Mike Tenebrae this month. Malcolm Barter is sailing through his, and hopefully Tony Hough won’t be too much longer.

In other news, The Tavern On Gallows Hill continues to delight readers and is receiving positive feedback all round. As announced at International Gamebook Day this past weekend, a sequel has been penned and the kickstarter project will begin November 1st in two weeks time.

A Novel Idea

Posted by Jam on October 16, 2023

A lot of you know what I have been through this past year and a half or so. I have noticed many people like to share their story and offer advice and I am no different. I have been keeping a journal for the last 8 years covering many areas of my life, none more so than the latest two. My brush with covert narcissism and parental alienation is therefore going to be committed to book form. Of course, names and locations will be switched to protect identities where necessary, but my book will also contain evidences and proofs, not to mention quotes from past victims originally unknown to me. It will also provide a help section for people who have gone through the same. Under the working title Miss Heaven&Hell, I hope to benefit somehow from the darkest time of my life as part of my continuing struggle to repair it.
