The wizard aurora site seems to be taking off nicely now as does its sister site. Ive been viewing baby care vids and bits to get jenned up ready for bump to put in a show. Been a nice four days off and missing vic already despite her having left only yesterday. Spent a bit of time at the lodge packing my possessions and also discarding any crap I dont need anymore. Considering what I did have four years ago I have much less now. It packs all into a medium sized wardrobe. Its good though, cos you cant take it with you. Just a few bits for emergencies of to keep me busy after retiring in decades to come.

Well it’s all official now. The time capsule I hid last year with Moo is now a pukka registered tinful of history. Question is will it be found beforehand? I think it’s in a pretty secure location. Only accidental discovery by decorators or builders will surely get that, unless the entire buildings knocked down.
Inspired by this id really love to do three more. One for me, Vic n the kids and another especially for our as yet unborn baby.
The biggest challenge is keeping it a secret from all those not involved. I wonder whom the lucky person who finds it will be? Especially with me resigning this year and us relocating to Cambeltown. Good luck and whomever you are!
Queen are my favourite band of all time. There are so many great tracks over their albums i defy anybody not to know one of them. We all have our favourite songs but each band member Rodger Taylor, Freddie Mercury, Brian May and John Deacon each wrote many of the tracks so here I am going to list my top three favourite songs by each member.
John Deacon –
Another One Bites The Dust
I Want To Break Free
You’re My Best Friend
Roger Taylor –
A Kind Of Magic
Radio GaGa
These Are The Days Of Our Lives
Brian May –
We Will Rock You
Tie Your Mother Down
Who Wants To Live Forever
Freddie Mercury –
Bohemian Rhapsody
Somebody To Love
Death On Two Legs (Dedicated to …)
Interestingly enough… about two thirds of my personal top ten favourite queen tracks are in that lot. Missing little nuggets like Breakthru and Scandal. Enjoy your Easter!
They saying goes ‘fortune favours the brave’. With what I am set to do I really hope this rings true as it is a huge leap of faith. I am reading some truly inspirational posts about people whom have done this at some point of their lives. The difference here being I will definately have a roof over my head when I get there whereas they had just a car. Indeed, my own heroes Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone started out in a similar way. The most important thing out of it all would be securing some sort of job within three months. Im ready and willing to be a shelf stacker if need be. Ive seen jobs advertised in the area but there isn’t that many ‘step1’ jobs listed. I think itd would be a case of walking around each place begging, or at least handing out CVs.
Four years ago, it took similar courage to move out of a bad living situation. I’m certainly glad I did that. I can’t let my childhood selfs fate be that of my only childs. It is my only shot at being a father. My own somewhat got the ratios wrong while I was growing up…, I can’t do that.
Well this past couple of days has been full of revelations. Pretty good ones as well. I have been configuring a couple of new websites, designing a new card game, recieved my first new £1 coins (hence the title) and best of all me and my lady are gathering plans to relocate to a rather lovely little town a bit northwards. To say im excited would be an understatement. Could even be a chance for a couple of old hobbies to resurface.
Now will be the time to save. For some reason I can feel it wont be as long as we thought….
Been quite a slow working week this week, and the internet is on the blink again. At least its time for a nice weekend with my Vic. Got so much to look forward to this year , not least being a daddy. Jonathan Green has managed to fund You Are The Hero 2 on kickstarter and Andi Ewington has pieced together issue two of his Freeway Fighter comic. Ian Livingstone must be ecstatic, especially with the revival of the Fighting Fantasy game book series later this year. Nice!
I’ve come up with another game formula. Card based and its really easy to produce. Might be work producing a play test sample and finding out if its any good. Vics back soon and I can’t wait. This is the longest we’ve probably been away from each other. I just hope she has really enjoyed herself. Afterall, we’re due busy times ahead 😉
Today I have secured the services of three fellow FF fanboys whom are respected artists in their own right, to help with the production of a card based game sharing its name with an Ian Livingstone book. I have messaged the man himself and await a response if we can get to work or not. The worst he can say is no.
The game itself is all organised with two juicy twists in it. It’d be great fun to play at a Beer’o event , or lunchtime or anywhere there’s a table.
It’s a sad thing but a great writer who I rather respected has gone from hero to zero in a short space of time by proving himself to be a bit of a knob head towards his fans. In this world, people have different beliefs, tastes, and outlooks on life. Just because he didnt agree with a rather petty topic he not only unfriended this person (thats fine, it’s his life) but in a gross display of boasting he proceeded to make an entire post about them and people branding them as ‘a shit’.
Well Stephen Volk, im proud to lead by your example.I’ve unfriended myself from your so called friendslist because I think you’re a bigot incarnate and a knobhead with it whom hasnt produced anything decent since the 1990s.
Dear God,
Its a strange thing, despite my severely religious upbringing I managed to somehow lose faith in my twenties but the more time that passes by the more ludicrous christianity in all its forms seems to become. Sorry if you do exist God, there is just too little evidence left in the world to support this claim for me, especially in a world with so much crap going on the all knowing all caring seems to be kopping a deaf one as well. If its all the same ill stick to all my friends and we will try our best to work everything out between us.
As for the driving power, I do get to see nature working hard all the time, its beauty, its savagery, its perpetual cycle not only on the Earth but far out into space as well. It gives life, it takes life it conserves and preserves without claiming to be all good and we understand much of how it works without needing a chauvinistic and phobic little text book which tells us even whom we can sleep with or not whilst some of its distributors are buggering underaged choristers but claiming to be acting on your behalf God.
I ask the women christians why they follow such a book which states, “A woman should be silent and submissive” Timothy chapter 2 verse 11. All this and they’re still happy to eat meat from your ‘unclean section’ for sunday dinner! Church Of England, Sunday School, Methodist Church, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Roman Catholic High School, I was dragged through it all. When nature’s right there in front of us, showing us what it does! If only someone said,
“Right, no killing, stealing, adultery or perversion, basically dont harm other people help them, don’t hurt other people, heal them…and enjoy the wonders of nature while avoiding the dangers and everything will be fine.”
So this may be the last message I send to you God. I’ve got work now so ill leave it there, I don’t want to be too late like you have been this past few of centuries… nay, Millennia.
Jam out!
