Well I’ve decided to take on those 30 day challenge apps to see if I can get myself fit again and hopefully start a running app once I feel limbered up. The 30 day apps consist of about 10 different exercises for arms, legs and abs development with the repetitions increasing slightly each day. There are 4 levels. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert. Naturally I recognised some time ago I wasn’t as fit as I use to be. In my teens I had no trouble getting over a six foot fence but thanks to the drinking, smoking and gauging on fatty foods in my twenties to mid thirties I’d be lucky to run 100 metres before collapsing exhausted in a heap. Look at that gut!
I have just completed day three of training. God I ache all over, but not as much as Day one which left me with a cramp in my left thigh. To be fair I do feel a little more flexible around my joint despite the pain. Tomorrow is the first rest day (as is every fourth day) and I have achieved two awards on the app. Once the pain has subsided I will consider starting the running app as well. On day thirty I shall post another pic of me on here and see if there are any differences before going in to Intermediate level. In the meantime here’s another reminder of how flacid things have become. Sorry! And watch this space.

This week was a tremendous one for Fighting Fantasy fanatics like myself. Andi Ewingtons comic version has had issue one released, a bunch of which (there are several covers) arrived to my workplace the other day and I managed to snap this brag pic.
So how has it turned out? In one word, fantastic! The comic is true enough to the gamebook published in 1985 and focuses on the post apocalyptic life of an ex car racer. Society has collapsed and vicious road thugs and motor gangs haunts the highways. Even this first issue has a couple of lovely Easter Eggs draughted in to the frames by the ultra talented Simon Coleby, and Len O’Grady on colours. I hear there are 5 of which I think I have spotted 4 (I refuse to do spoilers at this early stage). The first issue is basically about setting the scene and characted development. We get to see just how rough the world has become and it leaves you on a cliff hangar ending ready for issue 2. My only blast is it ended too soon for a monthly comic. It needs a couple more pages in it.
The front of the book also contains a foreward by Ian Livingstone CBE himself pictured below with an equally handsome Me. He writes about his inspirations behind the book and why he wanted to go more futuristic with book 13 in the Fighting Fantasy book series when his usual mediums are sword and sorcery epics.
Current production is at the cover art for issue four stage so if you love a good post-apocalyptic yarn, get on over to forbiddenplanet.com and order your copies TODAY!
Freeway Fighter Comic:
Pro’s – good production team delivering polished material on time.
- Con’s – bit too thin for a monthly comic. Half a dozen more page sides should do it.
#keeptheban Ok so the Prime Minister is in favour of bringing back fox hunting. Here is my views.
While I see arguments both sides , the opposition complaining about street infestation or farm threats, there is such a thing as pest control. Oddly enough I know a farmer who love the foxes on their land, wtg Ms Burford!
To have many mouths chew something living apart in the name of sport is like a scene from The Walking Dead. #TheresaMay , would you like to be eaten alive? Proper licenced pest control is the way. And as humane and pain free as possible. We are human beings, not crocodiles and sharks. (And at least they do it for food, not to put a smile on Lady Snot’s face)

Not long now before I become a daddy. Excitement is building and we have lots of baby stuff ready. Hoping September comes round just as fast as well. Want to be with my Vic n baby up in Kintyre. Ive built one of two websites I was hoping to. Now Scottishwebs.com will be my site of choice. Hope it throws some money our way. A few little tweeks and one more page and it’ll be fully active. Will start work on the localised site as well in due course.
Been a while since I posted here. So much has happened. Had a busy but fun time taking furniture up to Scotland, growing ever closer to becoming a father and of course, the next few month are going to be rather political. There are so many left wing and right wing parties nobody seems to be listening to the middle ground. Only the Green party, and soon the SNP come remotely close to a perfect party for me. I think the Greens will win my vote next time round, but they oppose Trident.
Will be working on two websites over the oncoming months in hope it’ll bring some pennies to the table when im unemployed. Should have about six months of savings to tide me over so finding at least 20 hours of work will be so important.
