Dads Army – remake

Ok so once again we have a well loved classic about to be shot to pieces by the modern film industry. Even with A1 cast members such as Bill Nighy and Michael Gambon on board, the film is doomed (sorry) with a shallow and completely transparent plot. A beautiful reporter (Catherine Zeta Jones) has turned up at Walmington On Sea and MI5 has traced a radio broadcast to Germany at the same time. We can guess everything now so there really is no need to see it. The saying goes sometimes less is more…. and it applies here.

Trading Standards

That was weird. There I was chewing on a packet of mintos and one turned out to be orange flavour. Someone wasn’t concentrating at NestlΓ©. Was quite a busy boy when I got home from work. Tended the compost bin and planted loads of daffodil bulbs. Can’t wait to get a tressle for the man cave. Here’s a quick joke my workmate Dave sent (so dont blame me)
‘A Glaswegian guy takes his girlfriend home to meet his family.
His father says “who’s this lovely lass then?”
He replies, “Its Amanda”
The dad shouts,” Its a what!!!!!”

Doctor Who – Flatline

Excellent well written story, genuinely scary monsters and mesmerising visual FX. Peter Capaldi finally gets an episode worthy of his stock and in my humble opinion, this is the best episode I’ve seen with ‘new’ monsters since Blink! If you haven’t seen it, you’re in for a treat πŸ˜‰

The Plastic Population

No, not Yazz and the Plastic Population, but for my hit counter the only way is up! I’ve turned back to my old methods of promoting my blog this past few days. In doing so I have received as many hits in 5 days as I did in the previous 11 months! Everyone knows hits mean visits, and whether or not they are from traffic exchanges or not your site is becoming increasingly better in ranks – trending or search engine for example. A couple of days ago I posted about reaching my blogs 10000th visit and it drew several subscribers and many more likes. Here is a picture I took of my blogs stats just now.
stats

Happily I’ve also managed to shatter October the 15th’s record visits amount. I’ve seen several videos on YouTube saying how you can get extra visitors to your blog. These usually demonstrate a couple of hundred but take a look at that picture again… I have reached over 1500 visitors and 1780 page views using my plastic traffic methods. If your page counter is being a bit still and you’d like to do something about it, Follow and send me a message and I will share my technique. You will need a laptop, desktop or tablet but the rest is rather easy.

GeoCaching Up

I’ve been a bit slow on the uptake be Geocaching sounds like a good way to keep me occupied while my lady is absent and I could do with the fresh air and exercise.I have a bit of catching up to do though now we have changed ISP’s. Last night I wrote the backstory of the Fighting Fantasy style adventure I am writing. I need to plant the rest of the spring bulbs in the garden, do laundry and tidy up. Furthermore I believe I have found a way to promote this site even further after Wednesdays successful method. So….lets get to it! Incidentally, good luck my darling Diane in your new job tomorrow.
Todays joke:
Saw Michael J Fox at the garden center thethis morning. He had his back to the fuschia πŸ˜‰

Whatever happened to them? Anyways the title of this post is in celebration of passing the 10K visits checkpoint. I’ve also added a new page so my blog is now completed. Its only taken 11 months lol. I’m spending quite a lot of time promoting it to sizzle them search engines and find me a good ranks. Also managed to update Eggzys business site so yea, productive evening. I deserve something nice… haven’t decided what yet! Either way, time for a coffee!

Oh, joke of the day…
Been sleeping in our herb garden lately.
Its a bit cold but at least I wake up on thyme πŸ˜‰

No Sanctuary

So The Walking Dead returns for its fifth season, and what an amazing opening No Sanctuary was. From the slaughtering of the survivors early on to the reuniting of Carol and Tyrese with the main group it was a biggest televisual ride since the epic prison standoff. Taking me from horrific repulsion to tearful happiness inside an hour, this was packed with the usual amazing visual effects. Carols character really shone in this episode, something she has been doing a lot of in recent times developing into a tough heroine rather than the weedy housewife of Season 1 and 2. Daryl Dixon probably got the best melee zombie kill since Michonne’s wire garrotting routine, which was executed (pardon the pun) with awesome realism.

Deviating quite a lot from the nutters on the farm in the computer game we get a slight glimpse of what drove the ‘Termites’ (Terminus survivors) the way they went. I feel this reason didn’t quite work for me but that’s just a minor personal quibble.

All in all, expectations were high and they cast and crew nailed it once again showing that The Walking Dead is one of or in my eyes, the… best program on the box in recent years and it still deliver. 10/10
