Well, its arrived and all in time for #Christmas. Alice’s Nightmare In Wonderland by #JonathanGreen, my special edition. For those of you whom haven’t heard, it is a new adventure for #Alice who is now 11 years old. You as the reader take on the role of Alice and decide which actions she takes to proceed to the next part of the story in this epic game book with a #steampunk twist and #KevCrossley brings #Wonderland to life with his incredible illustrations.
This is an ideal Christmas present or general buy for anybody who loves reading, adventures, games and of course the #LewisCarroll classic #AliceInWonderland. Seek and aquire and maybe you’ll see old Jams name mentioned within its pages. If that isn’t a selling point…what is? 😉
Congratulations Jon , hope to see you in 2016!
Well yesterday evening I spent the best part of four hours play testing Jonathan Green’s latest gamebook, Alice’s Nightmare In Wonderland. I must say I was rather impressed with how the book has turned out. After dodging a dead link early on in the adventure ( only thanks to seeing Jonathan a couple of weeks ago), I became more and more engrossed in the gameplay as it became more and more scary as she proceeded through Wonderland. He has cleverly interwoven some basic combat rules similar to Fighting Fantasy, and added a more fearsome environment without going over the top and segregating younger readers whom would be fans of the original work by Lewis Carroll. I faced one death and two failed attempts due to lack of needed items before reaching the end.
The game play mechanic seems to work fine, however I shall be playing alternate decisions and proof reading previously unused references over the weekend.
Great work Mr Green. Cannot wait for the final product and hope I’m dodoing good 😉
