So 2013…not the best of years. It had many lows but three significant highs that no other year previous has had.
One high of which being four relationships, that’s more than I have ever had before in years previous. Despite two of them ending rather swiftly which I shall not dwell on, the others seemed to be so perfect at the time. First of which was my last three months with Katie. As I feared she had found another guy and it was the one she denied interest in. Second of course was with Shelley from Louth. It transpired after 6 weeks she was simply on the rebound. The disappointment when they was all over was awful. Are there no other people in the world apart from liars and cheats? Its yet to be discovered.
The second high was finally moving out from Abingdon Avenue. Truth be told, I had made the decision to move out the very evening before we moved in after fathoming I was just being taken for granted as a subsidiary of cash so my houseshare, could live independently. I had spoken the aforementioned evening I could keep indoor plants in the conservatory, and heard her mutter under her breath, “you f***ing won’t”. After asking her what she just said she replied “nothing”. Based on that very remark I would pay off all my debts then save for a deposit over the next four years just to get out!
Going from a crappy two up two down, the house at Abingdon could’ve really worked. With a shared bathroom and kitchen, we had six rooms left if we included the garage. As we was to pay equal amounts, we should have had three rooms each. This wasn’t the case. Inevitably I ended up with the small bedroom and tiny boxroom as my living space. I had already discovered through the use of alarm systems that houseshare was letting up my bedroom to her guests while I was away… a vast invasion of privacy. I prevented this in the future my rendering my bedroom door un-openable. Then more recently she had disconnected Ramona’s vivarium and bunged her on a set of drawers behind a mirror letting her friend sleep in there whilst I was in Wensleydale. That was an unforgivable action on my pet. On top of this her new dog was vicious and would bite me and others too eventually. This arrangement wasn’t going to work any longer. I wasn’t getting what I was paying for and getting bitten each time I came through the door.
Thanks to Bomber, I ended up renting in town. A vast room with an ensuite and balcony, and everything’s going really well. People will see this and be surprised maybe, but as I keep diaries etc, they need not deny them. I found a great photo on yahoo which sums the latter experience up.
My longest cycle ride since I took it up was of 40 miles was earlier this summer with some of the lads from work. We rode from Lincoln to Woodhall Spa and back and I proud to say I alone raised £163 for charity. Since moving, I haven’t been out on any more long jaunts but invested in a posh new helmet camera so will get back into it when I feel more confident about these town roads.
Apart from those I have befriended some childhood heroes on Facebook. Having contributed towards the funding of the publication, my name should be in pages of the up and coming book You Are The Hero by Jonathan Green.
So all in all I will look on 2013 as a very emotionally glum year, but with some important transitions within it. See you in 2014 , have a very Happy New Year!
