Nostalgia

Well today i started to use the Zombies 5K app to train me into a 5 km runner. I had no idea i had become so unimaginably unfit over the last 20 years. I used to be able to run 5k without thinking twice in my late teens but it seems 20 years of pollutants like alcohol, cigarettes and fast food have really taken their toll to the point id struggle to make 200 meters. This app is a fun way to get back into things and i completed the first two challenges. (thirty minutes freeform and workout1)

Ill keep you all posted on my progress…

Well i have to put all my plans for this weekend on hold. For the first time in a full year ive caught a cold. Thats not bad going. Blazing throat and clogged up nose. Isnt man flu but im not risking spreading germs. Its a pity i dont have any of those 24 hour cold and flu pills from Boots. They genuinely are the only ones that give releif ive found. Least i have some tyrozets.  Theyre good for the sore throats. Those two products combined work wonders.

I recently used the word pareidolia in a conversation and nobody knew what it meant. This guy can explain it in a much more amusing way than i can in three minutes. Maybe you will be less quick to fall for so called ghost photos afterwards.

So we have moved house and began afresh. If i havent gone and found myself a really cute girl as well. We are only chatting right now but hope to meet next week. After three years of hurt maybe this is where Karma dishes out my compensation?
Id like to get out into the garden today and sort some of those borders out. Time for a spot of brekky, shower and walkabout!

Moving Over

Well, this weekend saw the big move. Im no longer at the palace iI was at and we have downsized two rooms. On reflection though, this place is almost as big, and certainly much closer to the sort of house I would love to own. A quiet location and tucked out of the way, this property has a lovely cottage style garden at the front, and a large open garden at the back. Definately my choice between the two. After spending allday moving furniture,  i started the gardening Sunday 🙂

Quick Change

Saw an old homeless guy in the subway today playing an unrecognisable tune on a harmonica.  I slipped him a coin for which he was very greatful and the smile he gave was the most genuine id seen in a long time….if a little toothless. It made me wonder how much people actually give as they walk by, and what is a fair amount if we put aside the saying ‘beggars cant be choosers’.
To begin with i think copper coinage id pretty useless. Not only is it difficult to find anything which costs a penny or two, but shops also reserve a legal right to refuse over 20p in copper coinage. I pissed a bus driver off doing just that in my schooldays, luckily i successfully appealed to his better nature. 5 pence coins are capped as well and awkward to carry around due to their size. Who wants to be weighed down by a pocketful of five p’s? So tens and twentys? Hmmm, these seem more respectable but youd need quite a few before you could buy anything like food or a drink at a cafe. Could try the pound shop but if you need something warm on a cold day youd be buggered. I figured anything from 50 pence or above is fair and practical in this day and age. Youd only need six 50p coins three times a day to eat relatively well. 18 generous people out of the hundreds that pass you by. Of course ill give whatever i can spare, but i see a fifty pence piece or above as a realistic offering in 2015.
Incidentally…. I gave this guy a one pound coin.
