Bit Of A Move

Been planning this for ages and finally managed to pry myself away from the Xbox. Looking forward to a date on Sunday with a lovely lady so jumped in and updated the blog, including a new page on my geocaching hobby. Got 4 made up ready to hide sometime as well as a couple of travelbugs along the way. Hope they hold out longer than the last one. Thieving twa…ahem…monkeys.

Felt really drained and tired all day long. The 35 degrees centigrade it reached yesterday must be to blame. Brits just cant handle such extreme heat. Doesn’t seem five minutes since we was all whinging about the cold. Anyways, jobs a gooden. Roll on Sunday, and hopes that JG adjusts his Kickstarter awards a bit for Saturdays launch.

Swans And Sunflowers

Kind of a disappointing walk to work earlier. A few days ago I noticed a Pen with two little babies. That alone is a very low clutch for a swan. On the way past the Brayford this morning she only had one left. I can help thinking people are killing these graceful creature. Totally illegally as well as Mutes are supposed to be protected.

Decided to boycott the pub quiz last night as funds are a bit low. Was very warm so didn’t feel like going out anyway. Susie’s got some sunflowers on the grow. Time to start cutting the borders to size or they’ll have nowhere to go. Nor will mine when they get here. Along the steep would be good for sunflowers as it catches the light all day and gives them something to brace themselves.

Gonna spend Saturday geocaching in the west common and up the river…touch wood. Will charge the knackered phone up too so I can get a good few hours out.

Mystery Cache

The mystery of this week is how one of my geocaches managed to go missing and then turned up back in its original place by itself the following day. Either the latest finder was playing sillybuggers or they didn’t return it to its rightful place until a message from me spooked them. Either way it puts me in mind of other things that go missing and turn up again later. Agatha Christie herself did for a whole week and she never did let on where she had been.

Lovely sunny day outside. I hope the weekend is just as nice. Wednesday… so work isn’t much of a bind either. I appear to be playing more Modern Warfare than Left4Dead these days. There are too many idiots on the latter ruining gameplay.

Remembering ’95

1995. Can’t believe it was 20 years ago. I remember it vividly for several reasons. Mother had sold the house I grew up in the year before and the money had come through. Oddly enough she gave me a small amount and treat us to a weeks holiday in West Bay, Dorset. Needless to say there were unwritten terms and conditions like she wanted the money back, oh and a contribution towards the holiday she had ‘treat’ us to.

My flat had got burgled, and all the things I owned that got me by had been taken. Talked about taking it bad. I got seriously pissed on cider and red wine that night, and also started smoking as a result. I passed out at Val Roses house and spent the night on her sofa. Boy did I vomit the next day.

Fighting Fantasy would bring out their final game book in the original series run, Curse Of The Mummy by Jonathan Green. The end of an era, this series had carried me through my adolescent years and into adulthood. I was now 19.

Queen had amazingly put together a brand new album, Made In Heaven. Containing several tracks that had to be finished after the passing of their front man Freddie Mercury. It was a huge hit, with Heaven For Everyone reaching number two in the UK, held off by the ultimately over played Gangsters Paradise at number one.

This year was traumatic and reaped little reward, but all in vast quantities that it will be so memorable.

Causing A Stink

OK this past few days has been rather enjoyable apart from other people causing a stink. First off dad found a way to get rid of those pesky aphids in the garden. Blitz up a head of garlic with about 750ml of water and a drop of washing up liquid and pour it into your desired spray bottle. Within two months youll have something that smells so rank you’ll wonder how even the plant doesn’t uproot itself and go for a shower.

This morning at work wasn’t to be any fresher. Last Wednesday returns had received a parcel back which by Friday they decided to put outside as it had flies coming out and smelled a bit. This morning it smelled so bad that you could clock it inside the building again. I’ve taken it upon myself to wrap it in a heavy duty bin liner and leave it over by the skips. Whatever was in this parcel has rotted to the point where it had started dripping putrification liquid which has maggots swimming in it.

If anyone comes to claim this parcel they can face me before I rub their faces in it. There are some things you just shouldn’t send in the post.

Had a huge 14 mile walk to Fiskerton and back today. In hindsight I should have biked but had a great time, lots of exercise and even stopped to search for a few geocaches. Will try and find that one around the rec near dads place. Feet are killing and I’m a wee bit sunburnt on the neck and arms. Hopefully I can set about building my two special caches this week, and my new phone will arrive. Roll on Monday!

For Richer For Pourer

Payday and I can’t get to the bank as its teeming hard with torrential rain. I have just checked my #Android app #RainAlarm and I still have about an hour to go before the rains lift. Its a minor convenience as it has been relatively dry here in #Lincolnshire. The soil is like brickdust so the plants have suffered somewhat.

Tonight I plan to film myself playing Centurian so I need to get in town and but a shot glass. I’m going to film it in #timelapse as well and watch myself get gradually inebriated with my mates on Facebook. Just for a laugh. Right now though, time for a mushroom cupasoup !

Birthday Bonus

Had a lovely birthday today (which is now yesterday at time of posting). Susie and Tracy kicked off the day plying me we cake, wine, chocolates and a zombie model kit. Young sister Squoo would come round at lunchtime with some cards and money. Went for a stroll around the arboretum shortly after, then home for burger and chips.

After much umming and arrring I decided to go to The Harrows pub in  North Hykeham where the local geocachers were taking part in a pub quiz. It was nice to meet them all they seemed very amiable and welcoming.  Even better the bus there was running late so the driver never charged us, and I got a lift home. I spent less than six quid on an evening out and our lot won the quiz and the raffle lol.

Strange things are also afoot. Jihbvfe bff nebab jti dpwno bsat hfeg jrlijim fte yfst frdbya … bndah bdas fxewj thihb sajgn prfdem yemfssb gfse. I have uninstalled WhatsApp now, the only way to contact is text or phone. Which they haven’t. Hate time wasters.

Anyway all in all a great day with some nice prezzies and a plethora of new friends x

I wasted no time in flying out the front door today. Set out to do some geocaching and managed to get a couple on the west Common before my phone eventually died. Need to see if I get store caches offline on my Sony so I can get out for longer.

Once again I was treat to an awful lot of pizza last night so I’ve bought the cats a collar and ID tag each. Ninja seems a friendly little thing but Kitty appears to be a little anti social right now. Most important thing now is to make sure Ramona’s room door is tight shut. I like all the animals here but if anything happened to her I’d be devastated.
