So what do I think about the top 3 questions? Let’s see shall we now I have had a good think about it.
Why don’t the Zombies go for each other?
A lot of films including Shawn Of The Dead and Redneck Zombies suggest mimicking them can get you safely past a horde. The Walking Dead puts the emphasis on covering yourself in guts to look and smell the same. I think both reasons don’t fly. Look at their eyes, the iris is changed. I believe they see in thermal vision. The living glow. The undead do not, as they have no body heat being dead. They’re also attracted to light, and sensitive to fire. Makes perfect sense.
How long would it take the apocalypse to go global?
Approximately 30 to go globally pandemic. This is based on bites etc, and if there is little or no warning and containment. Also if it breaks out on a continent rather than an island country.
How long would the apocalypse last?
Not as long as you may think. Given at its peak the remaining survivors are in shelters thus cutting off the food supply, we should then take into consideration how long it takes a Zombie to rot. If it’s the same rate as a normal corpse, then a Zombie would reach Butyric fermentation (where the flesh including brain turns to sludge) at about 25 days. Maybe sooner in hotter weather. They would literally just drop down dead and all be gone withing 2-3 months.
So it’s not all bad 🙂 The question should be can humans hold out that long in shelters without going nuts on megalomania? Food for thought!!
