Well I have been back at work for two days now. The usual palace of grime awaited me when I returned. What is the point of sending in a mobile cleaner for two hours to cover a seven hour job? This is the mentality of the idiots that have all the powers at Romec. Itll be much better if and when Cofely take over as I don’t think anybody can be as bad as the current headless chickens society in charge. Regina has be whinging about Craigs skiving whilst on the job, yet I caught her upstairs with him at least twice chatting. I have got a bigger fish to fry sadly. My mobile phone has decided to stop functioning properly and keeps displaying error messages. I have tried everything from empting caches to wiping it completely back to factory settings with no luck what so ever. Vodafone were also unable to help so it looks like its time to buy a newy. Unfortunately this may mean going for a less expensive option on the Kickstarter I am currently backing. But what can you do?
Updated this sites header pic and placed a social munzee on it. get scanning guys n gals. I appear to have opened up a new area for geocachers down on the Scarborough Bros farmland. Tentmantent enjoyed finding the Siblings series which I hid there the other day, and is arranging a litterpicking event next month in the woodland over there. Would have been good if I had though to hide a small cache there also. Anyways, time to wind down for the day.
Well the weekend has been so proactive. Saturday I spent seven hours in the hot sun geocaching. Hid four around Skellingthorpe woods and also found four as well. Dropped the new-look Riddler trackable off in Baby Masons cache near Pig Lane.
Made it to dads about 4pm by which time asda had shut, so didn’t get any shopping done.
After searching around the fittings at work, I finally discovered my tracktags had in fact arrived. Daz Tingles eyesight must be failing him now he’s getting on. I’ve activated Ramona’s Roamer and in a couple of days the nun figurine should have arrived for the other. Just need to drop then off after that and hope they move about safely this time. So many cache thieves out there, even the medium sized Skellyswag cache only had a plectrum and baby Alan key in it. Just need Antheia to activate my new ones now.
Craig’s off work this week. Hooray! Added bonus Lorna who’s covering him only gets 90 minutes so can achieve the same sub standard he can in seven and a half hours. Lazy twat!
Kind of a disappointing walk to work earlier. A few days ago I noticed a Pen with two little babies. That alone is a very low clutch for a swan. On the way past the Brayford this morning she only had one left. I can help thinking people are killing these graceful creature. Totally illegally as well as Mutes are supposed to be protected.
Decided to boycott the pub quiz last night as funds are a bit low. Was very warm so didn’t feel like going out anyway. Susie’s got some sunflowers on the grow. Time to start cutting the borders to size or they’ll have nowhere to go. Nor will mine when they get here. Along the steep would be good for sunflowers as it catches the light all day and gives them something to brace themselves.
Gonna spend Saturday geocaching in the west common and up the river…touch wood. Will charge the knackered phone up too so I can get a good few hours out.
The mystery of this week is how one of my geocaches managed to go missing and then turned up back in its original place by itself the following day. Either the latest finder was playing sillybuggers or they didn’t return it to its rightful place until a message from me spooked them. Either way it puts me in mind of other things that go missing and turn up again later. Agatha Christie herself did for a whole week and she never did let on where she had been.
Lovely sunny day outside. I hope the weekend is just as nice. Wednesday… so work isn’t much of a bind either. I appear to be playing more Modern Warfare than Left4Dead these days. There are too many idiots on the latter ruining gameplay.
Had a huge 14 mile walk to Fiskerton and back today. In hindsight I should have biked but had a great time, lots of exercise and even stopped to search for a few geocaches. Will try and find that one around the rec near dads place. Feet are killing and I’m a wee bit sunburnt on the neck and arms. Hopefully I can set about building my two special caches this week, and my new phone will arrive. Roll on Monday!
#Agastache, #Gladioli, #Seedum, #Saxifrage, #Anemone, #Lupin, #Echinacea… Just some of the summer plants ive put in today. Each one good for the wildlife too. Just a question of will the grow. Unfortunately weeds are quite rife and its difficult to tell whats what at the moment. Couple of packs of bedding plants may be needed soon. As for the rest of today…im gonna relax. Possibly have burger n chips, and watch a couple of films. Didnt get chance to #geocache sadly but might next week unless something intervenes. Still got to find a special place for my biggy! Might be worth having a chat with Ness down the pub! All in all, a nice #Easter.
Was contacted by Mr Lain this morning to organise another little drinkie. He has also kept back those two books for me. I think i offered a fiver per tome. Its reminded me to scrawl down that idea for my own #fightingfantasy adventure. Obviously ill put it yo paper first but after that im not sure wether to submit it to Mr Frys website or have it as a standalone playable fansite. Thisll be decided when i get more time. So week two of my 5k training started yesterday. I also took the time to ask the ranger at Hartsholme if i could hide my first #geocache there. Thats all done now and ive submitted it to the website. Just need to wait and see if the volunteer approves it. All exciting. Raided my 50p tin. Was only a fivers worth in it but thatll help out for next weekend seeing how ive been a bit wreckless with the pennies this month. At least i have new clothes to wear! Also been slowly assembling my three day bug out bag. These #survival shows ive been watching must be getting to me, but even if there are no emergency reasons to use it, i can always use it for camping in the #summer before the food expires.
Well set off a bit later than I though I would on my second geocaching quest. Managed to get halfway along the Lincoln to Bardney route down by the River Witham. Managed to locate 11 altogether , I think a few had been lots to yobs but the all interesting troves were still there. Swapped a keyring for a squidgy lizard. The temptation now is, to pump up the bike tyres and do a ride out to Bardney, locating the caches along the other half of the way. Lets see. Anyone else taking this route…watch out for dinosaurs along the way.
First attempt at the GPS treasure hunt passtime, geocaching.
