In May 2023 I became involved in a short film production. The Stranger I Love by Theresa Godly, is a 15 minute feature based on her own grievances with parental alienation. It starts Theresa Godly as Nina, Leon Ung as Ezrah and Christian Greenway as Mark. Parental alienation is a strategy whereby one parent intentionally displays to the child unjustified negativity aimed at the other parent. The purpose of this strategy is to damage the child’s relationship with the other parent and to turn the child’s emotions against that other parent. They may spread lies about the other parent or block regular contact of the targeted and their extended family.

Assisting with the crowdfunder to raise money for the film’s budget, I jumped on board at Executive Producer level. It is a social issue that has burned away in my heart most of my life, having been an alienated child and parent. In June 2024, I was invited to a private screening where others from all over the world met up and shared their stories before viewing the film. Theresa’s hard work paid off, for the film resonated with everyone present to much acclaim.

Our next aim is to submit The Stranger I Love into over 170 film festivals worldwide. A fundraiser has been open to all who wish to donate and spread awareness of this emotional abuse, and bolster reason why it should be a criminal offence. CLICK to donate
